My Southside Neighborhood, 66×81 inch quilt by O.V. Brantley, 2014.

When I saw this quilt pattern in a magazine, I knew I wanted to make this quilt. I think it caught my attention because the quilt in the magazine was shown in green. I immediately thought of my neighborhood which is lush and green. I named my quilt My Southside Neighborhood.

I am still adding embellishments to my quilt to add texture, dimension and meaning, but it is already a beautiful quilt. So far I have added glitter buttons to the stars, green crystals to the sky, and various buttons to add accent and dimension. I expect this labor of love to continue as I make My Southside Neighborhood a true reflection of the place I call home.
