My first card trick quilt was made for Duane Pritchett. After 8 years of service, Duane resigned from the DeKalb County Law Department to take another job. While working for me at the Law Department, Duane became very good at hanging my quilts. There was no way he could be allowed to leave without one of his own.
I chose the card trick block because Duane plays poker in his free time. I named the quilt Duane’s Winning Hand. The back of the quilt captures his love of cars, and the color palette includes some of his favorite colors.
Any post about this quilt has to include a grateful “shout out” to Maxine Moore, my friend and long arm quilter, who helped me get it done on short notice. I think we did a great job!
