India was home from the University of Pittsburgh last weekend for fall break. It was a beautiful weekend so we took a day trip to the Elijay Apple Festival — just the two of us.

I love country stuff. We browsed crafts, ate bad food and bought some apples someone else had picked. It was a good day.

It made me think of my quilt Evora’s Earth, which honors my mother. She was really good at creating memories.

Why don’t you make a memory today?

Fresh apples
