I enjoy trying new threads, and I have a large collection. I use different threads for different projects.
Lately, I have worked on several appliqué projects, and this has given me the opportunity to compare different threads. I have always been partial to silk threads when appliquéing by hand. I use Kinkame and YLI. However, there is one polyester thread that outperforms silk thread. It is called Invisafil and is manufactured by Wonderfil. I buy mine online at Red Rock Threads. This thread absolutely disappears into the fabric. I love it!
What is your favorite thread for hand appliqué?
I like the silk YLI thread. I may have to try this brand also.

Still consider myself a beginner and have taken one applique class. Not patient enough at the present to complete my project. Maybe after success of this technique I’ll become a convert.
