Learning to Bead With Mary Stori

The highlight of my time at the AQS Quilt Show was my beading class with Mary Stori. Most quilters recognize her as the queen of embellishments on quilts, and she has written several books on the subject. She was a delightful teacher, and I learned a lot. The question is whether it will stick! Keep your eyes open for beads on future quilts.

I purchased one of Mary’s quilts as a permanent reminder of the pleasant time I spent with her. The name of the quilt is Let’s Go Left. It depicts two angels trying to decide whether to go to a quilt show or to heaven. They chose the quilt show!

As you know, I love my angels! They may not be perfect, but they are never dull. This quilt will fit right in with the other angels in my studio.

By the way, I love the choice they made. Heaven can wait!

  1. Your little quilt is beautiful. Great choice! Are the beads stitched on through the backing or before the backing is attached? I was wondering what the back looks like if the stitching of the beads is through it. Lovely blog 🙂
