The Baby Princess

The Baby Princess, 50 x 44 inches, by O.V. Brantley, 2011.

When I was growing up, my Mom, who was a friendly braggart, would tell people wherever she went, “I have three pretty girls!”  Every time my Dad heard her say it, he would say, “And the monkey thinks her babies are pretty too!” He would fall out laughing, and my mother would insist that it was not funny.

Well, my newest quilt may be in the category of the monkey thinks  her baby is pretty too, but I don’t think so. My  latest quilt called The Baby Princess is a portrait of India on the night of her senior prom. I think my baby is pretty and the quilt too!

This quilt was lovingly quilted by hand and now part of my personal heirloom collection.
