Martin’s Dream

Martin's Dream, 74 x 87 inches, by O.V. Brantley, 2002.

The Martin Luther King Jr Memorial is being dedicated  today. Having spent the first six years of my education in segregated schools, there is not a day that goes by that I am not grateful for his work toward equality. He truly was a drum major for justice.

My quilt Martin’s Dream honors his belief that black children and white children could join hands and be friends. I love the border in this quilt.
