Jazzy Stars is part of the Brown Sugar Stitchers Quilt Guild exhibit entitled Not Your Grandmother’s Quilts — African American Quilters in the 21st Century. The exhibit is housed at the Auburn Avenue Research Library, 101 Auburn Avenue, At;lanta, GA.
The opening reception for the exhibit is Thursday, October 6, 2011 at 7 p.m. Attendees can meet the quilters, bid on silent auction items, and try to win the special donation quilt made by the guild members. The exhibit runs through December 11, 2011.
Jazzy Stars is a burst of color made entirely of batik fabrics. The quilt gets its name from the fabric on the back of the quilt which is a jazz theme. There is a hanging sleeve on the back and a label that documents the quilt. It is machine pieced and quilted and signed on the front.
Jazzy Stars is offered for sale for $1500.00 in my Studio Store.
