New Series – Subtle Struggle Toward the Dream

Subtle Struggle Toward the Dream #1, 45 x 45 inches, by O.V. Brantley, 2011. For sale at http://www.ovbrant.etsy.com.

Upon returning to work as an attorney after three years in retirement, I was struck by how many inequities remain in the work place. I was inspired to make a series of quilts called “Subtle Struggle Toward the Dream”. Each quilt in the series is made of black and white fabrics with a red accent. Each quilt is embellished in different ways to convey the message that the struggle continues.

Subtle Struggle Toward the Dream #1 is the first quilt in the series. It measures 45 x 45 inches. The scales of justice is the focal point of the quilt. A button with the words “Supreme Court” further suggests the theme of the quilt.

If purchased, this quilt is not available for shipment until August 15, 2011. It will be exhibited at the 2011 Atlanta Quilt Festival until then.
