Coffee With Cream Please, 64 x 76 inches, by O.V. Brantley, 2010. For sale at http://www.ovbrant.etsy.com.
I am getting really good at mixing business with pleasure. After making a training presentation to the City of East Point City Council in Helen, Georgia, I spent the rest of the day exploring the surrounding area. It’s a beautiful part of the country.
One of the interesting things I stumbled upon was a local coffee roaster called Jumping Goats. Being a coffee lover, I immediately snapped up some of the local fare for my private collection.
Browsing the coffee shop made me think of my quilt Coffee With Cream Please. This quilt is a sampler quilt made of deep browns and luscious creams with coffee bean fabric in the border. It is listed for sale in my studio store.
I also visited Habersham Winery where I found some interesting wines to add to my collection, Dora Mills, where I learned how grits are made, and an antique store where I purchased vintage buttons for future quilts. It was a perfect day.
