My Christmas Garden is One Plant

Christmas Garden 70 x 70 inches, by O.V. Brantley, 2003.

One of my favorite things to do at Christmas is to plant and Amaryllis bulb and watch it grow. I don’t have a green thumb, but it seems impossible to kill an Amaryllis. Watching the pot go from no signs of life to a brilliant,  blooming flower is a great affirmation of the power of nature and the ability to change.

Christmas Garden is a beautiful quilt I made as a substitute to a real garden. As you can see, if I could actually grow a garden, it would be a colorful one. Each of these flowers has a red and white polka dot center because Christmas is coming soon.

 Here’s my Amaryllis. Enjoy!
