Death, sickness and sadness are a normal part of the human condition, but it is important to keep those things in balance with the rest of your life. When I feel like the bad things are overwhelming, I do something to trick myself into being happy. One of my tricks is to make a happy quilt.
So this week I am making happy quilts. I started a series of four quilts called Today is Going To B a Good, Good Day! They are not finished yet, but just working on them has cheered me up.
Meanwhile, here is my all time happy quilt called You Make Me Smile. The best trick to staying happy is to keep positive people in your life.
Ms. Brantley,
I came across your name on the Black Artist in America site and I linked over to ‘ check-you-out’ ( as the young ones say). I have been browsing your site for the past hour or so and I am totally impressed. I absolutely love your quilts which are so varied and authentic in their presentation. And I especially love
your “Start Your Week With a Quilt” series. (That’s where I’ve been reading and reading for the past hour.)
I want to Thank you too for posting Tina Brewer’s site in your lists of quilt artists. Tina is from my home town and I see her often when she’s back here to visit her father. She is a beautiful quilter and I adore her work. So thank you again for your interesting and compelling site and for informing me of the site where Tina’s work is presented.
