Dreaming of Being a Michigan Man, my latest creation, was made for a young man who lives at the Carrie Steele Pitts Home For Children in Atlanta. Each year, the members of the Brown Sugar Stitchers Quilt Guild make quilts for the children at the home so that each child can have something special to call his own. The quilts will be presented in November when the guild has its monthly meeting at the home. I am always deeply moved by the presentation of the quilts, and I am so proud to be part of this project.
The special man in my life is a Michigan man. He is smart, funny and successful. I hope the recipient of this quilt will grow up and emulate those qualities and maybe aspire to be a Wolverine.
