Welcome to the World, Madeline!

Welcome to he World, Madeline!, 30 x 40 inches, by O.V. Brantley, 2010.

When I was asked by Judge Patsy Porter to make a baby quilt for a special person, I had no idea who it was for. I knew it was for  girl and that the nursery was going to be  a traditional pink. I chose to complement the pink with brown because I believe that girls must be beautiful and strong.

After finishing the quilt, I learned it was for one of my long time collectors Allegra Lawrence-Hardy. I knew instantly that I had somehow made the perfect quilt for her little girl Madeline Grace Hardy.

Spirit works in mysterious ways.
