AYSC Aliens Matriculates at the University of Pittsburgh

AYSC Aliens, 72 x 82 inches, by Elisa Woods and O.V. Brantley, 2007.

India had a hard time deciding which of her many quilts would enroll at the University of Pittsburgh with her. AYSC Aliens made the cut.

AYSC Aliens is a t-shirt quilt with a musical notes background that commemorates India’s years as a member of the Atlanta Young Singers of Callanwalde (AYSC).  When I heard the choir sing for the first time, I told India they must be aliens because children could not possibly sing that beautifully. That’s how the quilt got its name.

India made lifelong friends while a member of that choir. I am sure that is why this quilt is so special to her.

Elisa Woods helped me complete this quilt for India, and she received it on her 16th birthday.
