Last night we celebrated the birthday of my friend and neighbor Connie. Connie is turning 60 and wanted to do something extra special. Always the planner, months ago Connie commissioned me to make three quilts that would become family heirlooms for her and her two daughters Gina and Erika. (More about the quilts in a future post). Prior to the evening’s festivities, Connie and I presented the quilts, and of course, there was not a dry eye in the house.
After the quilt presentation, Connie and 10 of her friends, climbed into a limo. We were chauffeured to Imperial Fez where we spent hours enjoying a five course traditional Moroccan meal. Throughout the meal, we were entertained by belly dancers. Before we left we were treated to an impromptu belly dancing lesson. We all concluded that we can’t shake it like we used to!
All of this fun made me pull out my quilt Forever Young. Age truly is just a number as long as you fill your life with friends, laughter, and a little belly dancing.
