Have you ever had a day when it seemed like fairy dust had been sprinkled all around you? After an orientation trip, where you loved the campus, loved the food, got all the classes you wanted, got assigned to the best residence hall and made new friends, what more could anyone want?
Well, India had dared dream that she could become a manager for the women’s basketball team. She still loves basketball, and thought it would help her as she works toward a degree in athletic training.
As it turns out, Laura Kaufman, a coach at Lovett, played basketball for Coach Agnus Berenato, the head basketball coach at the University of Pittsburgh. Coach Kaufman sent a letter of introduction on India’s behalf. India met with Coach Berenato’s assistant, and was offered the opportunity to intern as a manager during her freshman year and the opportunity to become an official staff member during her sophomore year when a vacancy will occur.
All I can say is dreams do come true.
