Memories Must Be Preserved

Meredith's Cherished Childhood Memories, 71 x 79 inches, by O.V. Brantley, 2010.

One of the wonderful things about quilts is that they capture a slice of life and preserve it for generations. T-shirt quilts are a great way to preserve memories.

Meredith’s Cherished Childhood Memories was commissioned by Meredith’s mother to preserve some of the things Meredith loved during her childhood. The t-shirts span Meredith’s life from her day care to her college choice. It was a graduation gift.

I love this quilt. I am not a quilter but this inspires me to make one. I have been saving T-shirts since my kids were little and now it the time. Do you have any tired and true advise for me as a beginner?
