Christmas Day has passed but the fun has just begun. My holiday celebrations have always lasted until New Years Day because I am a New Year’s baby!

As I have grown older, friends have become more and more important to me. Because of all the hustle and bustle before Christmas, the week after Christmas has turned into Friendship Week! That’s my new holiday. Between Christmas and New Years Day,  I try to schedule special time with as many friends as possible.

Maybe you should start your own friendship week.

Friends Forever was a block exchange between eight friends organized by my best friend Rosalind Newell. The friends in this quilt  are Bessie Barnett, O.V. Brantley, Aleathia Chisolm, Cathy Johnson, Maxine Moore, Nina Moore, Rosalind Newell, and Marva Swanson. We each contributed two blocks. Some of the blocks reflected things about the recipient’s personality, and others are just beautiful blocks. This quilt will always remain a special part of my personal collection.
