Fall is in full swing at our house. Now I remember why I decided to take a break from full time employment.
Senior year for India has been as busy as advertised, but I think we are both enjoying it. Friday, I sneaked into the Lovett cafeteria during lunch time to see India’s step team entertain the student body. It was really cool! I must say, it kind of took me back to those days at the University of Arkansas when I could step. LOL.
Friday night means football. This Friday was extra special because my Lovett Lions beat our arch rivals the Buford Wolves. Long time readers may remember that Buford normally beats us by about 50 points (literally), but not this year. The Lions prevailed 28-21! I am sure the game will become part of Lovett legend. India takes her duties as a student trainer very seriously. She gets to be on the side lines with the trainers ready to render aid at a moment’s notice. As far as I know, no one got seriously injured Friday night.
Saturday morning meant the ACT exam for India and a trunk show for me. The quilters at the trunk show graciously agreed to send up a silent prayer for a high score for India. Sometimes divine intervention is the only thing that works.
On a more serious note, tomorrow is College Day at the Lovett School. Two hundred forty (24o) colleges will descend on the campus to recruit. As one of the co-chairs of this event, I can tell you it has been quite an undertaking to organize, but we are ready!
We love this time of year. I hope you are as energized as we are.
Get up and get going!
