I first met Holly Anderson, Georgia’s only APS certified quilt appraiser, when I decided to have one of my grandmother’s quilts appraised.  She was appearing at a local quilt shop to do quilt appraisals for a full day.

Since I inherited eight of my grandmother’s quilts and they were to be the bedrock of the foundation I planned to establish, I thought it was a good idea to get a sense of their value. Also, since I work from my home, I wanted the information for insurance purposes. Since that time we have kept in touch and beome quilt friends.

Holly will appraise quilts August 8, 2009, at Hammonds House Museum.  She is appearing at the museum as part of the Clara Ford Quilt Lecture series.

Holly will present a free lecture entitled 200 Years of Quilts and Counting. The lecture will be followed by a continental breakfast reception.

After the reception,  Holly will appraise quilts by appointment for the remainder of the afternoon. The fee for each quilt appraisal is $40.00.

If you would like to have a quilt appraised, contact Hammonds House at 404-612-0500 or email quilts@hammondshouse.org for an appointment.  Even if you don’t have a quilt you need to have appraised, come out to Holly’s free lecture, and let’s talk quilts.
