Isn’t It Awesome When Dreams Come True?
After a week of turbulent storms in the Atlanta area, the Brown Sugar Stitchers Quilt Show opened Saturday to beautiful blue skies, large crowds and much merriment. Ra and I willed it to be so, and so it was.
Ra and I banished the thunderstorms that slowed down the progress of our set-up (with a little help from some very strong husbands of quilters). We banished the tree that fell on our Carolyn Mazloomi lecture room (with a little help from the Fulton County Department of General Services), and then we banished all of the computer glitches that advertised the wrong location for our show (with a little help from all the cell phone makers of the world). By the end of the day, Ra and I were in full control working our glorious, sunny magic, making people happy (with a little help from the Sipping Sistas who served the wine).
Yes, Ra and I are all powerful. And so it shall be written that the Brown Sugar Stitchers Quilt Show, which continues through Friday, August 7 was the best ever. Who could disagree with Ra and me? There are 160 spectacular, mouth dropping quilts in the show. There are over 35 dolls that are so stunningly beautiful, people fell to their knees to worship them. And people will be talking about the Obama quilts shared by Carolyn Mazloomi, the first lecturer in the Clara Ford Quilt Lecture Series, for as long as we will be talking about President Obama. The word historical comes to mind.
Yes, with a little help from Ra and others, this weekend was a dream come true for me.
So this week, I share with you a quilt called Fred and Gina’s Special Day. I made it as a wedding gift for Fred and Gina to celebrate their special day when their dreams came true.
Trust me. Dreams do come true.

Until next week, know that Ra and I decree that your dreams will come true too, and by all means, stay on the high road.
