Make Your Rainy Day a Happy Day

O.V. Brantley
Rainy days are truly one of those “glass half full, glass half empty” kind of things. It is easy to be in a gloomy mood on a rainy day. On the other hand, after the drought we have gone through in Atlanta, we pray for rain.
Personally, rainy days make me happy. I love curling up in bed with a good book on a rainy day. I am sure gardeners wake up to a rainy day and rejoice that their gardens will get a heavenly dousing. Many athletes believe that running in the rain makes them stronger. With a little reflection, maybe you can think of something to do on a rainy day that will make you happy.
Whether your rainy day is happy or sad, the best thing about a rainy day is that you know sunshine and rainbows are just around the corner. So this week I share with you a quilt I named My Beautiful Day. The front of the quilt is composed of bright jewel toned strips to fight off any bad moods that may try to creep in, but it is the back of the quilt that gives the quilt its name–sunshine, rainbows and balloons — My Beautiful Day!
Until next week, make your rainy day a happy day, and by all means, stay on the high road!
