O.V. Brantley and Irene Latham

Last night we had a lovely time at the Wine and Words event at Hammonds House Museum. The event was a collaboration between the Clara Ford Foundation, Hammonds House Museum and Written Magazine and part of the 2010 Atlanta Quilt Festival lineup of activities. Irene Latham, author of Leaving Gees Bend, was the featured author.

The capacity crowd enjoyed gaining insight into the author’s inspiration for the book and listening to her powerful readings from the book and other historical documents.

The wine flowed freely. A huge contingent of my friends were there. It was a great night.
